Underground parking

As the new Station Centre that is currently in the planning phase starts to take shape, the existing P‑Asema parking facility next to the railway station will be decommissioned and its parking services moved underground into the first phase of the P-Hämppi expansion. According to the plans, the expansion will be built under the current P-Asema building and the Rautatienkatu street.

Simultaneously with the P-Hämppi expansion, the aim is to implement a new underground access on Viinikankatu, serving as a convenient entrance to the parking facility when arriving from the south and east and also enabling the future development of the underground street network. The future underground solutions are in accordance with the underground local detailed plan for the city centre that was ratified in 2022.

Planning for the new underground connection is currently underway, and the next phase will be the implementation.

P-Hämppi expansion

P-Hämppi has established itself as a popular parking option in the city centre, and the aim is to expand the facility in two future phases. More information on the expansion is available on the Finnpark website (link below).

The first phase of the P-Hämppi expansion and the new Viinikankatu underground connection are promoted by Finnpark Parkisto Oy. The Viinikankatu underground connection will be implemented as a joint procurement with the City of Tampere.
